Weather Report

Report from Sicily today, "Vento, Vento" wind, wind.

Which reminds me of Venice 21years ago. Arriving I am told about "la nebbia, la nebbia".(the Fog) I arrive and I work to find golden mosaic and luminous histories told on canvas, I am struck by the light, light refracted through la nebbia.

One night I stroll precipitously close to the Quay, and meet an eye surgeon there for a conference. The prowling cats' purring and swishing tails keep me from the edge. I see nothing of this Doctor, only his bolt of dark wavy hair, his delicious voice and pressed clothes. I ask does he have a family. Yes, yes. He asks me would I like a drink and moves in for a kiss. I learn about Italian men in Venice at a conference. So proud of their families, so sure of their pursuit, purring and swishing their tails.

La nebbia, La nebbia.
