Weather Report

Weather report first full year in Sicily. Okay, not bad. February 4th and I am feeling spring in the air. This can work.

 

Three days , three important harbingers of spring : Yesterday, Bar Ester, my preferred café here in Bagheria just beyond the reach of the shadows cast by Villa Palagonia, made gelato. I bought gelato, I ate gelato and I loved the gelato. Sette veli mmmmm…..

 

The day before yesterday, I wanted gelato. I bought gelato in a box, I ate some of that gelato and shared this gelato from a box with friends and family. We all were ready and hungry for gelato.

 

Yesterday, I remember noticing a moment of less frigid humidity and said to my self, " wont be needing this portable heater much longer this year" Later that after noon, I plugged in said heater, and the grounding connector, which is just barely a filament of metal , and unattached to anything inside the adaptor for the plug, did not make contact with the plug as I adapted it. 20 minutes later: smoke and melted plastic. No, won't be using the heater much …..

 

And to top it off, today, there was sun, sun, sun, sun . Warm sun. oooooh, felt so good, felt soooooo good.

As I write this I am sitting at the kitchen table as the Franco rests before opening the store at 4:30, and I am wearing a cashmere long coat, with a Land's End fleece long robe over my legs and up around my torso. No heater….

Spring is almost here
